New edition of the ESTALMAT project

The registration period for ESTALMAT 2019 is open, for students born and born in 2006 and 2007

The project STALMED (EStímul del TALent MATemàtic), of state scope and that in the Balearic Islands jointly organized by the University of the Balearic Islands and the Balearic Society of Mathematics SBM-XEIX, offers fifteen places to young people of the Islands, that will give them the possibility of access a two-year training program, to guide and stimulate their mathematical talent.
The selection tests will take place on June 1, 2019, on the UIB campus (Mallorca) and at the UIB headquarters in Menorca and Ibiza and Formentera. The registration period will remain open until May 26.

First steps for the creation of the Spanish Network of Research Institutes in Education

On April 29, 2019, the first meeting of heads of educational research institutes in Spain took place at the University of Barcelona. The aim of the meeting was to establish the bases for officially constituting a state network of research institutes in education (Red de Institutos de Investigación en Educación).

New deliveries from the Good Practices in Pedagogical Environments collection

CHRONICLE

"Cooperative learning in the framework of an inclusive school" was the title of the lecture given by Dr. Mila Naranjo gave on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the presentation of numbers 2 and 3 of the collection Good practices in pedagogical environments. The gathering is a project of the Department of Applied Pedagogy and Educational Psychology (PAPE) of the University of the Balearic Islands, created with the intention of helping to promote changes in the educational practice of our environment.

CEIP Son Ferrer, a cooperative teaching and learning environment, is number 2 in the collection and is responsible for Gabriela Spano, Mar Soleto and Joana Oliver, teaching staff at CEIP Son Ferrer, and Carme Pinya, Bartomeu Mut and Maria Rosa Rosselló, professors in the PAPE Department at the UIB.

Number 3, presented in the course of the same act, is INèDITHOS, Educational and Technological Intervention and Research in Hospital Pedagogy, curated by Francisca Negre and Sebastià Verger, members of the PAPE Department and responsible for the project.

The collection Good practices in pedagogical environments gives visibility to those initiatives that already exist and that in a little less than anonymous way, are carried out by teaching teams from the different educational centers of our Islands. The dissemination of successful experiences aims to help encourage innovative initiatives and encourage teachers to take part in actions that lead to the improvement of the system.
