The assignment of the research groups will be carried out following the procedures marked by the Regulation of the IRIE, the AN 12843 of the day 24 of July of 2018 by which approves the regulatory rule of the university institutes of investigation of the University of the Balearic Islands (FOU no. 468, of 21 September 2018) or current regulations.
Throughout the last quarter of each calendar year, the IRIE will open an application period for the assignment of research groups in the different categories. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
The IRIE Council will issue the relevant report on any affiliation requested.


INTERNAL REGULATIONS ON THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE RESEARCH GROUPS OF THE INSTITUTE OF RESEARCH AND EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION (IRIE)

I. Consolidated research groups

1. Consolidated research groups represent the core and foundation of the lines of research developed at IRIE and, as such, are a priority in decision-making on the Institute's resources and policies.

2. Those who meet the following conditions will be considered a consolidated research group:

• Have a minimum of two members in addition to the principal investigator.
• Have an average of six or more research sections (six years) equal to or greater than two, depending on the formula sum of six years of the members / number of members of the group and / or that all members have six years of research and the Principal Investigator two.
• Have live (six-year) research sections.
• Proof of having carried out during the last six years:
or outstanding research activity (impact publications, projects, participation in scientific meetings, etc.);
or have carried out training activities for researchers (doctoral theses, master's theses, etc.);
or having carried out actions to transfer knowledge or disseminate research.

3. The research groups and, consequently, their members undertake to:

• Participate actively in the research carried out at the IRIE.
• Keep the curriculum up to date in the GREC application.
• Mention participation in the IRIE or, if possible, incorporate its logo in all those research and transfer activities that they carry out and that are related to the Institute.

II. Associated research groups

1. The associated research groups represent emerging research, transfer and innovation and are made up of teams that, given their members, do not have the possibility of meeting the requirements to be able to form a consolidated group.

2. Groups intended to cover any of the shortcomings in the transfer, innovation or research of the IRIE may reach the category of partners.

3. These research groups must be associated with a consolidated research group, and / or the management of the institute, which will be responsible for ensuring that they meet these requirements.


III. From the affiliation of members to consolidated research groups

1. During the last quarter of each calendar year, the IRIE will open a period for the modification of the composition of the consolidated research groups and will inform the Principal Investigators, who will be responsible for submitting the application and submitting the files. with up-to-date information on its members and the people proposed for affiliation.

2. The affiliations of the members to the consolidated research groups of the IRIE must be approved by the Council of the Institute, which will send the proposal to the Governing Council for approval and to the UIB Research Commission or the corresponding body for its evaluation.

3. The affiliation of members to the consolidated research groups of the IRIE can be carried out in two categories:

a. Member. Membership implies full participation in the tasks and lines of research of the consolidated groups and the IRIE. This category will be open to all those researchers who consider research groups to be appropriate, with two conditions:

• that the average of six years of all members is not less than 2, according to the formula sum of six years of members / number of members of the group; or that all team members have a minimum of six years of research and their principal investigator two.
• that the proposed researcher does not belong to any other research institute.

b. Collaborator. Membership as a collaborator implies partial participation in the tasks and lines of research of the consolidated groups and the IRIE and is therefore only part of the group insofar as it collaborates with its members. This category will be open to all those researchers who consider the research groups to be suitable, provided that they have a doctorate, and as long as the collaboration with the members is maintained.

c. Collaborator in training. Assignment as a collaborator implies partial participation in the tasks and lines of research of the consolidated groups and the IRIE. This category will be open to all researchers who consider research groups to be suitable and who, despite not having a doctorate, are enrolled in a doctoral program.

3. The IRIE will review annually that the conditions of each one of the typologies of ascription are fulfilled. If, due to a change in the conditions under which he was accepted by the attached researcher, the IRIE will give the research group a period of one month to correct the situation. In the event that, after this period, the conditions continue to be breached, the deregistration will be processed following the procedures established in the current regulations.

IV. Of the associated research groups

1. An associate research group is considered to be one that does not meet the requirements to be attached to the institute, but carries out research, transfer or educational innovation tasks that can be recorded in an annual report that will be evaluated by an IRIE commission. .
