Mission and Vision
The IRIE's mission statement aims to express the essence of the institution for its members and also for society. In this vein, the mission sets out the institution's raison d'ĂȘtre and the principles that should guide members.
The vision sets out the 'ideal' situation the institution wishes to reach through all the objectives and strategies included. It is a reflection of the institution's statement for success.
Our aim is to have a shared vision of the Institute and a plan to implement and achieve this vision. Thanks to strategic planning and continuous assessment of the planned and undertaken activities, we will be able to regularly update our vision and reformulate the necessary strategies to see it fulfilled.
In line with this aim, the IRIE mission and vision are set out below.
Mission
The IRIE is dedicated to scientific research and innovation in the fields of education and training, provides development services (knowledge transfer) and also carries out postgraduate teaching activities, postgraduate courses and training courses. short duration in these same areas. One of its main objectives is the promotion of mechanisms for improving educational quality and excellence.
The multi-year plan proposal sets strategic pillars and activities, understood as key activities for fulfilling our mission. The strategic objectives are structured around the pillars and are the goals we need to achieve in order to realise the future vision of the institute in terms of educational research and innovation. Finally, the strategic objectives are specified into operational objectives, which are the general activities aimed at attaining each of the strategic objectives.
Vision
In accordance with its mission, the IRIE aspires to become a benchmark centre for research and innovation in education at regional, national and international level. In turn, our intention is for the Institute to be recognised as a benchmark centre for teaching, training and research.
The Institute aspires to appropriately meet the requirements of the field and act as a driver of knowledge generation, promotion and dissemination. At the same time, with its deep ties to the culture at the University and the entire university and non-university education system in the Balearic Islands, it works to promote innovation and the rapid effective transfer of results to educational institutions, with a particular impact on practice.
The Institute wishes to combine quality research that makes a valuable academic contribution with knowledge-transfer that fosters and ensures a positive impact for transformation across society and, more specifically, in the education system. In order to achieve this, research, training and innovation will need to be linked to educational practice and, in this way, enable the education community to become a reflexive, dynamic and creative collective that is attentive to new, emerging requirements, committed to improving teaching and learning processes, set on examining educational proposals from the system and that takes decisions about their relevance for learning and development in the community itself.
In order to lead proposals in the field of educational research, training and innovation, we need staff with the right academic training and advanced technological resources.
