The R+D+I project "Re-enable the neighborhood", whose IP is Dra. Noemy Berbel, from Art and Education Research Group (GRAIE), has been recognized with one of the six 2022 Social Innovation Awards from the Council of Mallorca.
The project seeks to transform the neighborhood of Nou Llevant-Soledat Sud in Palma, home of the Krekovic Museum, which is a co-participant. It is a socio-educational intervention that, through artistic practice, aims to empower schoolchildren in the area to take an active part in the rehabilitation of the environment.
The school-university-museum link works with a disadvantaged population at risk of social exclusion and makes them protagonists in the improvement of their neighbourhood.
