The International Conference of Research in Education (IRED) is a biennial event sponsored by the Network of Research Institute in Education (RIIE – https://riie.org/). The first edition was held in November 2019 at the University of Barcelona (http://www.ub.edu/ired19/) and the second at the Institute of Educational Sciences of the University of Salamanca (https://ired2021.grial.eu/). For this third edition, the organizer will be the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation of the University of the Balearic Islands (https://irie.uib.cat/).
It is expected that the event can be attended both in person and online at the University of the Balearic Islands (Palma).
The central theme of the conference will be Weaving networks facing the challenges of education. The objective that we have set ourselves is to analyze the challenges, trends and commitments of educational research, to promote the creation of international networks.
Under this motto, at IRED23 we request works that unite research and educational practices, alluding to how both must coexist nowadays. Specifically and non-exclusively we will focus on:
- Transformative education at a social, fair, equitable and sustanable level.
- Migration movements.
- Multilingualism.
- Interaction between religion and cultures.
- Practice based on scientific evidence.
- Gender studies.
- New technologies.
- Inclusive education.
Contributions (communications or posters) must be sent through the EasyChair platform at the following address (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ired23), following the format instructions given below. These contributions will be reviewed by the members of the IRED23 Scientific Committee.
- Works in Spanish, English and Catalan are accepted.
- Maximum lenght: 1500 words (including references in APA7 format, except italics and indentations, which are not supported by the system).
- Submission format: form enabled on the EasyChair platform, it is not necessary to upload any additional documents
- It is important that all the information on the form is filled in correctly.
- All accepted works must have the registration in the conference of at least one of the authors. Each author can register a maximum of two works.
Accepted contributions will be published int he conference abstract book (with ISBN). A selection of the works presented will be invited to participate as chapters of the book «Tejer redes frente a los desafíos de la educación» (temporary title) in Octaedro editorial, indexed in SPI.

Oral communications
- Maxium of 15 minutes (10 for the presentation+5 for questions)
- There is no default format or template.
- If a presentation is projected, it must contain a cover or title page with the title of the work, the name of the authors and the logo of the conference.
- The recommended sections to include are introduction, methodology, results, discussion and references.
For in person presentations, there will be a computer connected to a projector. It is recommended to bring the presentation on a removable device (usb) or send it previously to ired23@uib.es
For remote (online) presentations, the authors will be connected by videoconference through a link that will be indicated before the start of the event, with the authors being able to share their screen to show their presentation.
Posters
- A0 size (841 mm x 1189 mm) in portrait orientation.
- There is no default format or template.
- The poster must include the title of the work, the name of the authors and the logo of the conference.
- The recommended sections to include are introduction, methodology, results, discussion and references.
In any case, the poster must be previously sent as an attachment to ired23@uib.es, so that the organization can make it accessible to attendees online.
In the case of attending the conference in person, we will provide you with material to hang the poster in the designated space. The poster must be brought already printed or printed it for reception in Palma, following the instructions below.
If you attend the conference online, you must print your poster at Impresrapit (Palma), which will take it to the congress on the indicated day. To do this, you have to send an email with the poster attached to jmmilian@impresrapit.com. They will tell you how to proceed with the payment and, once you send them the proof of payment, they will print the poster and take it ot the conference venue. It is important that the poster is sent with proof of payment before November 1st.
Important dates:
- Submission of communications: until June 30, 2023
- Communication of acceptance: July 14, 2023
- Conference registration deadlines: August 4, 2023 (reduced) and October 15, 2023 (full)
- Sending posters to Impresrapit for printing (if necessary): no later than November 1
